Father Pleads Not Guilty to Giving Children Sleeping Pills

A Town of Oneida man who police say tried to kill himself and his four children with sleeping pills pleaded not guilty Wednesday. Deke Suri, 36, faces four counts of attempted first-degree homicide. Prosecutors say Suri admitted to officers he wanted to hurt himself back in December, taking 40 sleeping pills and then giving some to his children. Those kids were eventually found safe and released to their mother. Suri is scheduled to stand trial in April.
