Valley Transit Offers Wi-Fi on Bus Routes

Wi-Fi is now available on most Valley Transit routes and the downtown Appleton transit center. Valley Transit officials say it's a partnership that's the first of its kind in the country. The partnership between Valley Transit and Open Range Communications allows free, wireless Internet access for bus riders. The service started Wednesday. "I was thrilled to have it in the transit center, because people are waiting for their buses now aren't just waiting, they can sit and do work on their computers and do whatever they want to do, so I think it's really huge," Valley Transit general manager Deborah Wetter said. Service is available in Appleton, Grand Chute, and the Heart of the Valley. Open Range Communications says coverage might be spotty in Neenah and Menasha, and i...
